Laos is known as "The Land of a Million Elephants."
Elephants at Tad Sae Waterfall
The elephant symbolises the ancient kingdom of Lan Xang, and is sacred to the Lao people, who believe it will bring prosperity to their country.
Sadly, there are no elephants left in the wild. Elephant camps have been invented to help protect the remaining elephants and to entertain tourists.
"I'm sure you've got some coconuts in there for us."
